About Ariel

Hey gang! Thanks for visiting my totally awesome, marvelous blog. Here's a little info on the fabulosity that is me. XD

An Ariel View

First and foremost, I was not named after The Little Mermaid.

I do, however, wish I had her hair. And maybe a tail.

I do sing, although I've never had my voice stolen by a sea witch. I've  been in theater since I was four years old and have performed in more  than 30 productions. My favorite? Playing Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair  Lady."

I am in love, but not with a prince. His name's Danny, he's a chemical  engineering student, sports fanatic and wears sweat pants. Luckily, he's  also a huge dork, loves food and has great taste in movies, so at least  we have something in common.

I'm not a collector of items from the human world, but I do collect  information, as I'm a 20-year-old, third-year journalism student at the University of  Cincinnati. I'm also the managing editor of UC's independent student  newspaper, The News Record, and I've interned at FOX Toledo News and  Dayton Daily News.

I'm not from under the sea, but I did grow up in Maumee, Ohio, a suburb  of Toledo, Ohio. Instead of seven sisters, I have one. Instead of an  introverted flounder, I have a big-boned, affectionate cat named Sam.

Like The Other Ariel, I am full of energy, curiosity and excitement for what life has in store for me. So I guess we have a lot more in common  than I thought. Go figure.

My Stuff

This blog began as a spin-off of my column for The News Record. Since then, it has grown to become my outlet to the world. I cover my life as an intern, every day events and culture commentary, all with a point of view that's purely Ariel. Check out some of my top content:
